P03-022 - Calprotec in chronic nonbacterial osteomyelitis
نویسنده
چکیده
Introduction The cytoplasmic S100 proteins derived from cells of myeloid origin. Calprotectin (MRP8/14 protein complex) might be a biomarker either for autoinflammation and autoimmunopathy. Since autoinflammatory diseases might be a diagnostic challenge calprotectin may be helpful in the diagnosis of autoinflammatory diseases. Chronic nonbacterial osteomyelitis (CNO) is an autoinflammatory, noninfectious disease. CNO describes a wide spectrum from a monofocal bone lesion to the chronic recurring multifocal osteomyelitis (CRMO). Laboratory and histopathological findings are nonspecific. In some patients systemic inflammatory signs such as elevated acute phase proteins cannot be found.

Chronic nonbacterial osteomyelitis (CNO) with its most severe form chronic recurrent multifocal osteomyelitis (CRMO) is a non-bacterial osteitis of yet unknown origin. Secondary to the absence of both high-titer autoantibodies and autoreactive T lymphocytes, and the association with other autoimmune diseases, it was recently reclassified as an autoinflammatory disorder of the musculoskeletal sy...
متن کاملNonbacterial Osteitis of the Clavicle: Longitudinal Imaging Series from Initial Diagnosis to Clinical Improvement
Nonbacterial osteitis is a rare autoinflammatory disease. Often it is mistaken for a tumor or osteomyelitis. We present a case of a twelve-year-old girl referred to our hospital because of a lesion of the right clavicle. The differential diagnoses were sarcoma, osteitis, and Langerhans cell histiocytosis. After biopsy the diagnosis nonbacterial osteitis (NBO) was established. Treatment of choic...

Chronic recurrent multifocal osteomyelitis (CRMO) is an extremely rare and most severe form of chronic nonbacterial osteomyelitis of unknown etiology. Here we present the first case of a six-year-old girl in which was observed that the stress fracture mimic osteomyelitic foci in the course of CRMO.

INTRODUCTION Chronic nonbacterial osteomyelitis (CNO) or chronic recurrent multifocal osteomyelitis (CRMO), is a very rare condition of unknown aetiology. It is characterised by focal sterile inflammatory disease with prolonged, self-limiting and recurrent episodes. CASE PRESENTATION We report the discovery of this very rare disease following a mandibular abscess in a 10-year-old female. We i...
